CHALLENGES OF MODERN EDUCATION AND THE ROLE OF TEACHERS

Modern education is more than ever faced with numerous challenges, including decade-long reforms, social upheavals, the development of modern technologies, and more. The role of teachers consists of overcoming all the obstacles they encounter daily. Additionally, teachers must develop critical thinking and creativity in their students, preparing them for the demands of the job market. Teachers are expected to have an innovative approach to work, to be available to their students not only as somebody who teaches them, but also as moral support, and to provide all students with quality education. Teachers, as agents of change, must constantly improve themselves professionally and adapt to meet all the needs of modern society. In this paper, besides the problems teachers face and their role in modern education, the implications of teachers’ work, which are of great importance for successful education, will also be outlined.
