The paper discusses genre forms in journalism, and determines the place of journalistic stylistics in teaching practice. In the philological approach to the newspaper medium, the textual method is insisted on, the text is a written product of the creative act of the journalist, and in the methodological one, teaching-operational possibilities in the analysis of the newspaper text and newspaper message are considered. We conclude that in the teaching of Serbian language and literature on methodologically-methodically selected examples of newspaper texts, students can meet with the written and, as a rule, written form of the text, and with the linguistic norm and culture in general.
