The aim of this paper is to prove the hypothesis about the necessity of revising the curriculum for the primary school for the Russian language in terms of phonetic materials. Pointing out the key differences between the phonetic systems of the two languages, we have defined the key segmental and suprasegmental features of the articulatory base of the Russian language. We conducted the frequency analysis of the phonetic material of the textbook by encrypting and explicating the phonetic (segmental and suprasegmental) dominants thematized in the current textbook sets. We monitored their frequency in the whole set and compared it with each other and with the explicit features of the articulatory base of the Russian language. The assumption of the necessity of curriculum revision was confirmed: suprasegmental dominants in textbooks (word accent, vocal reduction, intonation), key in the Russian articulation base, are twice less represented, while the key segmental dominant ( even hard / soft voices) is represented in the notes.
