The subject of the paper is the description and analysis of syntactic features of the scientific style in domestic textbooks of the Russian language for the humanities. The specificity of the functioning of the scientific style, its standardized structure and typical constructions, the indefinite, general and impersonal character of the language of science are described. Stylistic analysis of scientific texts in the mentioned textbooks showed that the specificity of the language of science is largely manifested at the syntactic level, which has significant implications for the methodology of teaching the language of the profession - the allocation of mandatory syntactic minimum for different stages of teaching, , as well as the formation of an objective linguistic base for developing the habits of reading, translating and independent use of scientific and professional literature.
